The Day of Prayer at Toccoa Falls College has taken on many forms throughout the years here in the North East Georgia mountains. This year, the school canceled classes and had prayer events all day. We started by praying with faculty members for our various ministries at a prayer breakfast. This was a time to catch up with professors that I had as well as come before the Father together for very real needs.
Next, we went to a prayer and praise service at the chapel. It was an incredible moment, I truly sensed the presence of the Holy Spirit. After the praise service, Todd Adams gave his next installment in his messages around the theme "Who Cares?" Today, Todd talked on suffering in the life of a missionary. My heart broke as I heard his story of being car-jacked in Mali, West Africa. As a father, I can empathize with what he felt as the car jackers drove away with his children still in the car. Praise the Lord, the story turned out well with only property being lost, not children.
This struck home for me. We are headed to Central Asia and the reality of taking my family into a potentially hostile environment is one of concern. Of course, I believe that is safe, for now. Yet, the reality of violent, wicked people is a reality in any situation. Please pray II Thessalonians 3:1,2 over our family.
Once chapel was over our team went up to the residence we are staying in and prayed for the country we are headed towards. This was a glorious moment of spiritual warfare on behalf of these needy people.
The rest of the day we spent as Missionary Reps talking to students about Short-Cycle Church Planting. It was a good day. May your day be blessed.
