Did you know that in our country that we live in it is illegal to drive through the capital city with a dirty car? That's right, even the dust piles up in the homes and dirt is everywhere in sight, driving with a dirty car deserves a fine. A local man will go to great lengths to keep his shoes clean. They wash them every chance they can, they carry a cloth to clean them, and you always see them bending over cleaning those shoes. Well it seems that automobiles are just an extension of a man's shoes. Needless to say, you want to make money here, start a car wash.

Back in Business!

I know, I know. There is no excuse for dropping off the grid, so I won't even try to make one. One thing I will say is that I am going to try to revamp my blog and my blogging schedule. There are all kinds of blogs out there and my hope mine is one that you will keep coming back to over and over again.

Life here in Central Asia has settled into a routine. Our kids go to school, we study the language, and our team is getting its feet wet in humanitarian work. We are attacking our humanitarian efforts with a three-pronged approach: disaster management, community health and development, and micro-enterprise. At this moment, we are learning what we can so that we can launch an all out effort in the spring.

We have also decided on a place to try our Short-cycle experiment. A place called "Dust Valley" is our destination. Dust Valley is remote region with over 240,000 people.
